Sea Monkeys were invented by
Harold von Braunhut in collaboration
with marine biologist Dr. Anthony D’Agostino in 1957 and originally called “Instant Life “ and sold for only 49 cents. Braunhut changed the name to “Sea-Monkeys” in 1962.
using illustrations by the comic-book illustrator Joe Orlando, sea monkeys were marketed in comic books throughout the sixties and the seventies.
